4Quarters Weekly College Pick’em: Jerry and Mike Go Bowling! (Dec. 20 Poinsettia Bowl)

Both Jerry and I started off the bowl season 1-1 after Nevada couldn’t hold its 21, then 17 point leads including being up with 46 seconds left. Each of us had Utah State over Toledo, now we move on to perhaps the bowl with the longest name tonight.

Again, instead of giving you each bowl game all at once we’ll give you are picks in a daily dose of them.

Thursday – December 20, 2012
San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl (San Diego, California): BYU Cougars (7-5) v. San Diego State Aztecs (9-3, 7-1 MWC), 7 pm/ESPN
M – Rocky Long and Bronco Mendenhall have a past, both have worked together at different schools and now meet in the SDCCU Poinsettia Bowl. All of that is fine and dandy but the Cougars offense is awful despite having a salty defense, I like the Aztecs at home in this game. The Pick: San Diego State 20 BYU 10
J – Each could have a better record with a few breaks going their way. The Cougars have owned the all-time series against their former Mountain West rivals, but Riley Nelson will need to have a sensational game for BYU in order to overcome the Aztecs home field advantage. That factor I think will help continue SDSU’s success post-Brady Hoke. The Pick: San Diego State 34 BYU 20

Rankings are from BcS Standings

Current Bowl Record: Mike (1-1), Jerry (1-1)
Regular Season Total: Jerry (91-49), Mike (91-49)

Previous Bowl Pick’em Results

Current Bowl Results –

Gilden New Mexico Bowl: Nevada 48 Arizona 49
Famous Idaho Potato Bowl: Toledo 15 Utah State 41
